The Optex VXS-RDAM(W) is an outdoor, wireless ready dual technology motion sensor from the VX Shield series, designed for 40 ft by 90° coverage with anti-masking and strong false alarm immunity.
Features
- Uses both passive infrared (PIR) and microwave ("dual-tech") for more stable detection, especially outdoors
- Intended for residential and small commercial exteriors (approaches, building perimeters, etc.)
- Detection coverage: 40 ft (about 12 m) by 90°, wide-angle coverage with approximately 16 detection zones
- Wireless Ready: housing and layout are designed so you can add a compatible wireless transmitter for use with wireless alarm panels
- Dual-tech with animal tolerance: combines PIR and microwave plus pattern/size analysis to reduce alarms from small animals
- Active infrared anti-masking: detects attempts to cover/spray/obstruct the lens and reports a trouble/anti-mask condition
- SMDA logic (Super Multidimensional Analysis): digitally analyzes detection pattern and environmental data to filter out false alarms from temperature changes, sunlight, moving vegetation, etc.
